Wednesday, USJ Senior Soccer player Donovan Eubank signed a Letter of Intent and Scholarship to play soccer at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, TN. A true team player, Eubank moved from his usual attacking midfield/forward position to goalkeeper in his Junior season when USJ’s keeper was injured. Dr. Scott Phillipps said of Eubank, “He has met challenges with a great deal of character. He’s willing to sacrifice himself for the good of everyone.’
Last season, he was chosen as one of the “Best of the West” tournament team members
and was Honorable Mention for the All-West 2012 team.
Along with his accolades on the pitch, Eubank was named the 2012 Male Youth Referee of the Year by the Tennessee State Soccer Association.
Bruins Coach Paul Conway said, “This is a credit to all of his hard work, that he’s been given a chance to play for a program that has aspirations to play for a National Championship.”
Eubank is the first member of the Bruins Boys Soccer Team to sign a college scholarship since 2007. He will join the Red Hawks this Fall.
