At 8:30 a.m. Friday, a moment of silence and prayer will take place at First Presbyterian Church, at 1573 N. Highland Ave. in Jackson. Thereafter, the bells of the Jackson Memorial Carillon located on the grounds of First Presbyterian will toll 26 times, according to a news release. In response to a request by Connecticut Gov. Dan Mallory, asking places of worship to ring their bells 26 times Friday in memory of each victim killed in the Newtown school shooting.
