A Tennessee inmate serving time in the Morgan County Correctional Complex in Wartburg has been charged with the 1986 kidnapping and murder of 32-year-old Betty Carol Thomas, of Lexington. Statements given to authorities earlier this year linked John Edward Miller, 47, with the cold-case crime. Miller is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges.
